Social Action

Social Action Commission

The Social Action Commission ministers to those who are in spiritual,

emotional, or physical need. Through works of charity, the group reaches out to

the homeless, the poor, the hungry, the lonely, the imprisoned, the neglected,

and the sick. It is our mission to respect life at all stages and to work toward

eliminating the causes of social problems both locally and globally.

Kids Against Hunger

Kids Against Hunger is a community wide effort to send food to the hungry in various countries around the world. Help is needed to participate in bagging meals, and to provide funds toward the effort. Cost to participate is $30 per person with sponsorship money available.

Operation Rice Bowl – Solidarity will Transform the World

During Lent, families are encouraged to eat one smaller than average meal per week, and donate the money that would have been spent for a regular meal to Operation Rice Bowl. A bowl-shaped bank used to save the money, are available in the Gathering Space during Lent. Catholic Relief Services use the money to help teach and feed children and families in under-developed countries around the world.
