Confirmation Preparation
We invite our 8th grade youth to affirm and deepen their Catholic Faith by preparing to celebrate Confirmation.
Confirmation Orientation Meeting:
Baptized Youth in 8th grade and above who wish to prepare for Confirmation and their parents will meet in the Fall before Faith Formation Sessions begin in McCann Center. Confirmation Preparation
The preparation process at Sacred Heart is designed so that the candidates will:
- have a sense of belonging in our parish and in the larger church;
- deepen their personal commitment to Jesus and to the church;
- experience an increased openness to the ever-present Spirit;
- be involved in Christian witness and service;
- and review, clarify and expand their knowledge of Catholic Christianity.
Youth who wish to be a part of this journey towards a deeper faith and fuller initiation into the Catholic faith community are expected to participate in all aspects of Faith Formation (small group sessions & Faith Festivals), attend Mass weekly, participate in ongoing ministry, use contribution envelopes, attend monthly Confirmation Family sessions with at least one parent, participate in Sponsor/Candidate activities, and attend an overnight Confirmation retreat.
