First Communion Preparation

Baptized Catholic children in the 2nd grade or older who have not celebrated First Communion are required to prepare for and celebrate their First Reconciliation (Confession) prior to their participation in the First Communion program. Children are expected to know the Sign of the Cross, the Lord’s Prayer, Hail Mary and Glory Be; attend Mass weekly and use their thanksgiving envelopes. Children attend monthly sacramental preparation sessions with their families and weekly faith formation sessions with their peers. First Communion will be in May at the 5:00 p.m. Mass with a reception to follow.
